'Endtime Overcomers' - Blood of the Lamb
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of
the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their
lives unto the death.
The blood of the Lamb, the message of
the cross, gospel of Christ and gospel of grace are similar.
Peter confesses Christ
Mat 16:15-16,21 He said to them, "But who do you say
that I am?" Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God.".. From that time Jesus began to show to
His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the
elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third
day.
It was only after His disciples believed and accepted Him as the Christ
(Messiah) the Son of God that our Lord taught them the gospel of grace with Him
being the sacrificial Lamb of God.
Gospel of Christ
Luke 24:46-47 Then He (Jesus) said to them, "Thus
it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise
from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should
be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
This was the gospel of grace taught by our Lord Jesus that new converts
must believe Jesus and accept the gospel of Christ as follows:
1. Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God
and the Word made flesh
2. He suffered and was killed
(crucified). At the cross He poured out His blood for the remission of our sins
3. He died and having overcome death, He
set us free from the fear of death.
4. On the third day, He rose from the
dead
Our Lord Jesus taught Paul the same gospel of grace
1 Cor 15:3-5 For I delivered to you first of all that
which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according
to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
Confess and Believe
Rom 10:8-9 But what does it say? “The
word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith
which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Whoever repents and confesses his sins and believes the gospel of grace
will be saved and the blood of Jesus cleanses all his sins.
Our Lord will then give him the Holy Spirit as the seal of redemption
thereby making him become a born again Christian.
Gospel of grace to Jews by Peter
Acts 2:22-24,36 "Men of Israel, hear these words:
Jesus of Nazareth... you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and
put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because
it was not possible that He should be held by it... Therefore let all the house
of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified,
both Lord and Christ."
On Pentecost, Peter preached the gospel of Christ to the Jews and 3,000
devout Jews repented and became Christians. Later on, Peter preached the same
gospel to the Gentiles in Act 10.
Gospel to Gentiles by Peter
Act 10:34, 39-40 Then Peter opened his mouth and said:
"In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality... And we are witnesses
of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom
they killed by hanging on a tree. Him God raised up on the third day, and
showed Him openly...
Saved by Grace
Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of
works, lest anyone should boast.
We thank God that we are saved by His grace - believing and confessing
the gospel of Christ.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
